I wouldn't use BA pre-workout because it ultimately activates inhibitory neurotransmitter receptors (GABA). This at least has a mild sedative effect (I'm currently analyzing the potential effects on central drive/strength/fatigue).

I also have an hypothesis that post-workout supplementation will facilitate greater muscle uptake of the loading supplements. It should be emphasized that there are no data directly supporting this for BA.

I'd rather not say too much about either of these ideas until I develop them a little (or A LOT) more.

Phenomenal answer, Dave. Thanks.

You wouldn't happen to have an explanation for the mechanism behind the side effect of nausea, would you?

Thanks! I'll see if it does in fact help me relax and sleep at night after my bedtime dose as I have trouble sleeping the way it is. What I would give to be able to fall asleep in an instant..

I get nausea with BA from time to time as well.....I cant imagine taking it within close proximity of my workouts....I found best time is either after workout ....or even better before sleep...

David thanks for the reply. Good to have you here.

If it does truly activate GABA receptors, then stacking a few grams of BA + GABA + ZMA before bed could have some serious KO power.

hmm, I take gaba and zma before bed (gaba sometimes).

I thinK through random events I might have taken them together.
I'm going to have to see tonight to see what happens.
