If you take whey AND BCAA's before your cardio, you're defeating the purpose of one of them. Take the BCAA's before and the whey after.

This is from the Grappler's Guide to Nutrition. I'm not trying to prove you wrong. I'm just curious because I've seen Monger argue the same thing about glutamine.
What I'm really curious about is what you would suggest for a workout drink. I just went with Madmick's mix from Trueprotein as follows:

5%: Creatine Monohydrate
5%: Branched Chain Amino Acids

Would you recommend something instead of the BCAAs?

I don't really see any point to adding BCAA's to protein. Theoretically, one could argue the added Leucine might be good to increase protein synthesis, but then again I've never seen a study that utilized BOTH BCAA's and protein pre-workout stating that the BCAA's made a dramatic difference. But there's a more specific reason I addressed the situation in this thread the way I did.
The uzbekistanian up there was asking about Carnitine, which one could surmise he would want for it's use of mobilization of bodyfat. Why then would he want something fortified with calories pre-workout? That defeats the purpose of wanting to lose weight, giving the body substantial fuel such as something resembling an entire meal just before the workout. There'd be no real point.
Pre and post-workout supplementation are entirely subjective depending upon the person's goals. If your goal is to gain more size, then Madmick's formula works fine. If your goal is to lose bodyfat (you're doing a cutting cycle), there's no need to have all that shit before a workout.
Also, I'm not sure if some of you guys know but BCAA powders are typically very structurally fragile. That's why most of them recommend stirring not shaking. Put them in a blender or a shaker cup, they're as good as gone.

Great info, thanks King. I should have been more specific. I was also wondering if you were answering that way based on what he asked. You covered everything I wanted to know and more. I appreciate it.
Edit: King, would you suggest adding just 5% leucine rather than 5% BCAAs for a during/post workout drink? I would be using it after lifting and after MT practice.

Carnitine has done nothing in clinical trials, like I said even intravenously.

I have seen the L-Carnitine used a lot of the products that I used. I am not familiar with the individual effects of it. It would interesting to know what affect it has, and if it is good or bad for your body.
