Anyone use L-Carnitine?

Just wondering if anyone has a good level of knowledge on L-Carnitine, or can provide a testimonial in using it.

Not really, but the best L-Carnitine product I've heard of is Incarnate by Palo Alto Labs.

As a weight loss tool I found it didn't do anything really. Maybe in huge doses, but I was taking 1000mg I believe an didn't notice anything.

i know a lot of people (mostly bodybuilders) that really praise it using it along with an ECA stack, but that stuff is pretty pricey, even for a bulk powder.

Essentially L-carnitine is the transport mechanism for fat. When the body is in fat-burning mode, say during cardio, a fatty acid is cleaved from its triglyceride backbone and is transported to the mitochondria of the muscle cell via l-carnitine. So by taking a dose of a gram or more prior to engaging in cardio activity can accelerate the mobilization of fat since there is more carnitine present to transport fat. Very little to no side effects. Take it only before cardio sessions.

Unfortunately neither oral nor intravenous carnitine did squat in clinical trials. However, when carb-loaded...yup.

King Kabuki,

Could you please give a little more info on this?
In a few older threads you hinted that you were going to create a thread about getting carnitine to work, but I can't seem to find anything.

You have to carb-load it.
