Anyone here ever had to take Probiotics? Excess yeast in small intestines?

So for the past long while my stomach has been fucked up. Recently though I have had trouble eating. I eat a few bites and i feel completley full and my stomach is always filled with gas. I have to take a crap 3 to 4 times a day. This has really put a damper on a lot of things in my life. It is a chore to eat enough to make it to the gym because any food i see makes me not hungry, even when I know i need to eat. I take a few bites, and cant stomach much more. This leads me to having headachs all day from not eating. This also turns me into a real fuckin asshole because im a moody bitch when i dont eat.

After far too long of this I went to the university doctor, because i have no insurance. They ran some tests and told me I have excess yeast in my small intestine. After looking it up, this can cause all of the symptoms i have and i am convinced this is my problem. My "doctor" told me to go to a health food store and buy probiotics. She didnt know which kind, or which strength, or what dosage....she just said go buy some. After researching, I realized this is crap advice and she doesnt know jack shit. From my understanding, there are different types of probitotics for different things and taking the wrong type, or wrong dosage, could have made my problems even worse.

I am now waiting to try to get some kind of CMSP/Medical but the government is slow as shit. If i get denied, im just going to bite the bullet and cough up the hundreds of dollars in tests and bills from a specialist because thsi shit has got to end.

Have any of you guys dealt with this problem before or had to take probiotics? Anyone have any info on this? Any advice? Thanks for the help guys.

'fraid I have no experience with this, but I hope you get it fixed alright. Sounds like a real bitch to deal with day in, day out.

Could investing in some OTC probiotics really cause that much damage? If it's like $10 for some acidophilus, why not try it for a couple days and see if it aggravates your condition?

This might sound like lame advice, but why don't you try a couple days of just eating probiotic yogurt (maybe 3 times per day). I had to start eating some because of some medicine I am on - it was causing some awful stomach problems like you're describing, and it felt like my gut was rotting from the inside. The yogurt did wonders. Honestly, I was surprised at how well it worked.

Yea man. I have somewhat similar stomach issues. I would recommend getting a ct scan with contrast and dye. I take a medicine called Hyoscamine and I just started but it seems to be helping. If I'm not mistaken it is one of the main ingredients in a GI coctail. Maybe it'll help you. Maybe not.

I will give you advice that will change your life.

Do not drink Aspartame- Diet drinks and products

Do not eat Monosodium Glutamate-Also known as MSG it is in almost everything but there are many foods that don't have it. Check your food i bet almost everything you have has MSG. It causes weight gain.

If you Don't eat or drink those 2 things your whole life will change. Probiotics are very good but you need to get the proper stuff not this Activia yogurt crap.

Before you do any more tests get some miso. Don't boil it. Eat it on carrots and stuff like that as well as in soup. Try some natto if you can handle it. .I really like that stuff, but some people don't. Try yogurt. Avoid sugar, bread, carbs in general until this clears up. Avoid beer too. Make sure you don't have a mold problem in your house. That can contribute. visit mercola.com for more advice. It is a wonderful sight. EDIT: site.

Sorry to hear it.

Yeah man. I've had spurs of IBS throughout my life as have other members of my family. Although this condition is not caused by the same conditions as your case, pro-biotics have often been suggested by doctors and "healthy/hippie" friends alike. Really all they are bacteria that is commonly found in a healthy body. You`ll also find many of these friendly little guys in yogurt and other cultured dairy.

This stuff is almost completely harmless. What it will do is compete for the food that the yeast colony is survining on in your lower intestinal tract. It will naturally reduce the yeast culture and probably improve digestion and stool formation (sorry, now I`m putting images in heads).

No one brand is better, and again it`s not likely disrupt your routine. It`s very benign stuff. Buy a small bottle for a few dollars from a health food store, and keep it in the fridge. Try some natural yogurts if the thought of pills turns you off.

Give it a shot, nothing to lose.
