The Great War Association - World War One Reenacting Page

Took me a while to find this dude, Hermann Dörnemann. I remember seeing a documentary about him, all he ate were one or two boiled potatoes, some kale I think (can't recall exactly, it was one of the more popular German greens) and beer.
Also, there's quite a few centenarian Okinawan's who don't eat meat as well.

I don't see why there's such a hostile attitude towards vegetarians (and I'm an omnivore!), perhaps some insecurity and partly vegetarian snobbery being rubbed in is part of it, but in the end, I'd say both food eating lifestyles can produce healthy results as long as they are careful with what they eat, and in moderation. Good eating guys
that's exactly what i meant. people scoff at vegetarians, or they think they are snobs or pussies.. its ridiculous. i was simply pointing out that ive been veg a long time, but also compete in a very rigorous sport, that requires strength and speed, and i have no problems keeping up.

Sometimes, people excel athletically despite their nutritional habits, not because of their nutritional habits. The human body is an amazing machine.

I have actually considered become a vegetarian, but my body type is not conducive.

I am very carbohydrate sensitive. If I eat much carbs, even rice, I tend to put on weight. My insulun gets spiked and I cant burn fat.
To stay lean I eat a lot of protein, with moderate fat, and very little carbs. In fact, most of my carbs are from veggies. But I eat a ton of chicken, turkey, lean pork and beef.

To maintain a high protein level, you really cant just eat vegetarian can you?

I guess I could eat a lot of eggs...

I know one possible carcinogen is over cooked meat. I have thought long and hard about going more raw, with cooked eggs as my only "heated" food.

Hmmmm, maybe I will give it a try for a month and see how it goes....

Wouldn't it be better to avoid things that are bad for you (soy), and do things that are difficult yet healthy (squat)?

They use pesticides except they break down natural chemicals (e.g. sulfur in cow dung) to a super concentrated level and use that.

I can't believe people think that organic farmers actually take a gamble each year 'well maybe my entire crop will be wiped out'
Yes that is exactly what I mean. Any pesticide with a carbon atom is considered organic. Organic has turned into a sham. I could go on, but I think I'm sounding like a tin foiler, or at least repeating myself.

yeah eggs and milk would be the way to go.

if you are a vegan though, you are going to need a high quantity of protein AND a good combination. Soy is a complete protein, and is actually not harmful, unless you are eating over 200g of it. Theres beans, hemp, etc.

I don't give a FUCK about the moral implications of vegetarianism, in fact, I wrote a nice paper on why vegetarians are idiots, and failed, because as a majority they are healthier due to: 1) more veggies, 2) typically correlates with a "healthier" lifestyle of less drinking and smoking.

I am mostly a veggie after YEARS of doing the super heavy 6 eggs, sausage in the morning, intermittent fasting, high amounts of protein and fat, etc.

I just listened to my BODY and how it reacted. Over time, I could not eat steak (to my chagrin), I would get sick from red meat. I slowly over time just lowered my meat intake because I felt shitty (whereas for YEARS if I did NOT have meat in EVERY single meal (6x a day most of the time), I felt the same sickness I feel now from EATING meat).

I know eat shit loads of kidney beans, eggs in the afternoon (so I'm..ovo?), a MASSIVE amount of veggies, and lately lentils.

My ideal meal which I cook 5x a week:

Breakfast: broccoli and grean beans (frozen) with kidney beans. Keeps me going for 4-5 hours.

Lunch is a egg, kidney bean burrito with cheese.

Snack, some kidney beans and broccoli, or, broccoli / kidney beans and Tofu (which I lately am tiring of, my body hates tofu now), protein shake with much grean powder.

I'll have a turkey sandwhich, or chicken wheat-noodle chow mein sometimes.

I just evolved into this, which, I never thought I would..I eat nearly NO meat. Through eating like this, and eating at least 1x portion of veggies 5x a day (staples were brocc, green beans, peas, spinach (which doesn't fill you up at all, that damn spinach)), I lost 60 lbs without exercise (due to a torn lumbar disk).

Do what your body wants, if your craving meat, go eat it you moron.

i have seen no evidence that shows its "despite" or whatever backhanded insult you're trying to throw at me/vegetarians.

You contradict yourself there, "moron." But, big ups for not listing soy and tofu in your diet.

-signed, meat eating "moron."
