I watched that all access on randy couture and it said no dairy for his diet. Is there any legitamate reason for this?? Is dairy bad for you?

A lot of people hold extra weight when they consume dairy. i notice my weight goes up 5 or so lbs if i eat a decent amount of cheese. i definitely get bloated if i eat too much dairy. only thing i can think of.

milk, while having a very low glycemic index, has a ridiculously high insulin index. That could be why. I still drink it, but I have cut pretty far back.

no fucking way I'm giving up cottage cheese though. also plain nonfat yogurt is supposed to be legit

The bloating factor is a big reason. Then again, a lot of people also have an intolerance for it. I quit dairy, and dropped some weight. Then again, I was vegetarian before dropping dairy, then lost more weight.

If you're lactose intollerant, that's a good reason. I can't think of another.

Dairy is bad because of lactose. Milk contains lactose which is a sugar - it is not digestible for most humans AFTER infancy. Bloating, heartburn, and weightgain all come with excessive dairy consumption.

Some people, like myself, develop an allergy to it with age.

I was wondering the same thing. I read an article recently where another fighter (other than Couture) had given up dairy, which got me wondering why. I get a lot of my protein from dairy sources (whey protein, cottage cheese) so this would be a big thing for me to let go of.
