Whoa lots of questions and comments, thanks guys i will try to work through them all in my weakened state... jus kidding. Its about 65-70 hrs since i last ate and i feel fine. I have lost 1kg so far.
The only suffering i have really done is that i am feeling the cold real bad, altho the temp has dropped here the past couple days anyway, and i have had a couple bouts of pins n needles in my hands. no headaches, no nausea, no blackouts and very little hunger.
i am looking forward to fruit though!! boyyy!!!
my colon isnt in any worse state than anybody else's but like anything which is in constant use it needs rest in order to repair and this is the 5 days rest period i am giving it so that any damage can be repaired.
when i break my fast i am planning on eating 2 or 3 bananas and about the equivalent ammount in mango over the first day. i may even eat less.
the second day i will eat banana, mango and a little veg for tea.
3rd day i will probably try all kinds of different fruit and have veg for tea. perhaps some salad.
4th day i will begin introducing rice and oats.
5th day i will contniue with the carbs not fogetting all my fruit and veg and introducing eggs.
6th day i will be back to eating regular albeit much more healthy and more sensible portions since before my fast.
i cant remember all the questions and comments but for the person who said 'jus keep lifting etc' well i have done training of one sort or another for a long, long time now, culminating in me turning pro this yr. At some point your body needs a little break from 'lifting' etc, dont you think?
my next fight is not until feb next year so this is my chance to flush out all the toxins of my body, become spiritually uplifted and re-motivated and start fresh.
i plan to use december for lots of power lifting which i have never done before, couple with the strength training which has always been the staple of my training and fight preparation.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get this information?

So 10days without protein, say bye bye to muscle tissue.

Wait, so you're going to fast for 5 days before a grappling tournament. Then you're going to "powerlift" for the first time in your life for 4 weeks, two months before an MMA fight? Don't you have anyone to consult with about your programming?

Ouch, yeah my thoughts exactly. There's definitely going to be some amount hard earned pounds of muscle lost during all this.
Gary, why in the world is there no protein once you break your fast??
