whilst the colon is in a constant state of use it will never fully repair.
only by completely emptying the contents of your stomach and giving it a good rest will it truly start to heal fully.
theres a lot i dont understand about this process, i dont claim to be any expert but i have done this once before about 2 yrs ago and the results were good. hence why i am so keen to do it again

unlike last time (the nucleus for my original fast was food poisoning) this time i will be doing some training, a little zoo-zitsui just once a day, i think tomorow morning, thursday morning, oh and i have a grappling competition on the saturday- the day i break my fast.
that should be awesome, lol.
Why does your colon need "repaired"?

Really? You went 36 hours without food over 3 days?

Btw.. healing your colon seems kind of stupid. Do you have a ruptured intestine or something? I think eating food might be the least of your worries if you have a legitimate reason to need to heal your colon.

Good luck not eating for 5 days I guess..

I couldnt imagine not eating for 5 days, then doing a competition.

Im curious to see how this works out in the end. Maybe it could show support for fasting for those of us that do not believe in it.

What is your approach to starting food again? Like what foods are you going to start back with, portion sizes, etc?

Hunger is a very complex mechanism and is governed by hormones and neurotransmitters. It can be drastically different between two individuals. The fact that you had one experience doesn't mean that everyone will have the same experience when it comes to hunger.

You're not going to have undigested food in your stomach supplying nutrients for 5 days after eating. You have energy from fat stores, glycogen, and protein that the body can use for energy. Too bad there are no long term protein stores in the body. All your protein needs during the fast will be covered by breaking down existing tissue.

Most likely it doesn't. I mean no offense to anyone here but I think those that buy into this are victims of hype based on quackery.

Water fasting is a great way to slow your metabolism and trick your body into thinking you're starving.

Not recommended for anybody who exercises at all because that will aggravate things even worse during this process.

The body needs to be repaired, water isn't enough.
