Wrestling Conditioning?

Last year when i conditioned for wrestling season i ran a lot of long distance runs and hill sprints for conditioning it didnt seem to help and i gassed about the 2nd period and lost some matches i definetly should have won. Someone told me to work my whole body when im conditoning i dont know how to do this other than wrestling and i can only get mat time twice a week so if anyone has any tips it would help.

Yeah, I'm getting back into wrestling this year! Right now I submission wrestle, but for conditioning, stick with the running! Add more intensity, or since it's preseason, work on increasing your V02 Max, add in a high intesity day! I have a pretty big room I workout in, so I like doing various calisthentics, treadmill work, rope skipping sandbag exercises/pulls/carrys/drags animla movements seem to be helpin in the time ive used them! Just keep the intesity high! GL!

Try doing circuit training and also grappling with the same intensity and time limits you would your wrestling match.
