from his eager questions at the end, I'd guess this is year 1 for him, and no.

dude, your wrestling practices are going to make those look like a lazy stroll through the beautiful grasslands of wisconsin on a crisp fall afternoon.

wrestling conditioning is reserved for wrestlers and people sentenced to the ninth ring of hell.

you dont need or want to do those exercises, in wrestling its all mental and physical condition, learning the wrestling moves by itself is exhausting and on top of that the conditioning you do for it is the most grueling training you will do in your life.....only exercises you need to focus on are these

burpees
push ups
clap pushups
crunches
runnings
more running
jump squats
jump sprawls

nothing heavy

Wrestling starts in 6 weeks? Wrestling has already started here up in Canada. The first University tournament was on the 18th. Highschool practices have started already. The first tournaments will be in early November.

running is always good, but i would also throw in some stairs. we had a pretty big stadium at our school and we used to just snakes all day long. and burpees are a must. we never did them because our wrestling room ceiling was too short, so we did updowns. just simulate a sprawl and get yourself up as fast as possible. it will wear your ass out.

If you truly want to become great at wrestling be a cardio freak, just look at Brent Metcalf...besides the 2009 finals, thats not a very good example.

do 50 burpees but add push ups then do shuttle run and then 50 more burpees it increases your cardio so much and thats one of the most important things in wrestling and mma
