Interesting article.

Pretty strenuous routine for high school level...but you can't deny the school's results.

I especially like the "Page not found" part of it

Tough workout. Not sure how effective that kind of program is as far as strength developement goes.
I prefer shorter, higher intensity conditioning workouts (Tabata, GPP drills, etc), but who am I to say he ain't doing it right? He's won like 3,899 state titles, lol.

60 state champions in 35 years is pretty damn impressive.
The kids are strong for their size, they can climb a 60 ft rope with 45 pounds strapped to them twice, and walk on their hands back and forth the length of the basketball court.
But the workout seems more geared to overall conditioning, which is more important than strength to a top wrestler IMO.

Yeah, no doubt they have very good to great overall conditioning. They also seem to have good endurance. The strength workout seems to be lacking to me, but I'm no expert mind you (and I could be biased because of the S&P board). In my short 9 months of MMA, I still find that the stronger guy will have a distinct advantage in BJJ/Wrestling that all the endurance/conditioning can't overcome (outside of technique, which is by far most important).
Again though, the guy produces big time winners, so I'm not going to argue with his program.

Nice workout, but it is from a florida school -- not exactly a hotbed of wrestling. I wonder what the Blair program looks like?

You are right on that, but strength training is ALWAYS second to technique on the mat, in the ring, or on the streets.
