Wondering if crossfit is too intense for mma conditioning?

At my mma school, we have a crossfit to. I have been training in circuits since I have started training. But 3 days a ago my mma teacher gave us a crossfit workout for conditioning, after gi less jiu jitsu training.

This is the following workout we did.

30 burpees

30 box jumps

30 situps

about 300yards of moving lunges

about 300 yards of bear crawls

30 kettle bell swings

30 squats with 35lb kettle bell

30 burpess

30 snatches with a 35lb kettle bell

30 more burpees

30 more box jumps

There was no rest between switching exercises, This was done for time.

I did ths workout 3 days ago and I'm still sore as shit. The day after the workout we did a muay thai class with general conditioning. I was so sore I had a hard time doing the warmup jog. My legs were so sore it Phucked me up.

I was wondering if doing this kind of workout will benefit me? Or just break me down, I already see that it interfered with my fight training. I'm so sore I have a hard time getting off the couch after done sitting down.

Should I keep doing this? Or stay away from it?

Anytime you introduce a new workout into your routine you will be very sore. The more you did it the less sore you will be each time as your body adapts. What is too much depends on alot of personal factors like diet and rest so it's hard to say what is too much

That looks like a pretty intense workout, but like standard said, you will adapt. Down tons of water and some advil, eat, rest, and smear yourself in tiger balm.

I think it all depends on your level of fitness and how you treat your body. If your body is not used to it, your body will be sore and feel like crap for a couple days. If your body is used to it, it won't be as bad.

Then there are other things that factor into it like how much water you drink. If you drink at least 1 gallon of water a day, that will help your body a lot with soreness. Water helps cleanse your body of toxins and helps your body repair itself.

Other factors are diet and how much sleep you're getting. I also throw in creatine after my hard workouts so I won't be as sore the next day. Also contrast showers work pretty well in recovery.

What school do you go to by the way? I live around the same area and the fact that your instructor had you do that is great.

i am under the impression that creatine increases ATP production or something like that. it helps a person do more work in a training session. i was not aware that it aided in recovery as well. does anyone know of the science or the mechanism that would allow creatine to aid in recovery as well?
