why do they get into ice water after training

i was just wondering the effects it has on the body ...

I believe it is used to relax and heal muscle tissue faster. I don't know the specific science behind it.

I'd read that it helps to push lactic and other muscle waste out of your deep tissues by condensing everything. No idea if that's true or not though.

Ice cold showers after work outs are the new love of my life. Try doing a good training session then putting the water on the coldest setting. Youll curse your mother, satan, and every lesser imp and demon while your in, but as soon as you get out you feel like 2.7 million dollars.

It pushed all of the lactic acid out of your muscles and back into your blood stream, if you do a warm down then a cold shower, you'll feel like 2.9 million instead of 2.7

Try contrast showers. Diego Sanchez did it on the first season of TUF. Alternate between an ice bath and a really hot tub. People use contrast showers since its easier using water at the coldest setting and water at the hottest.

Big deal, what are you going to do with your extra 0.2 million thats so special.

What do you mean by warm down? Im bored with my post workout routine and need a few new ideas.
