What time do you condition?

Sorry, this is a pretty dumb question, but I can't seem to figure it out.

I've noticed on a lot of fighters' websites where they have their training and diet schedules, as well as a lot of you here; it seems like the majority of people train and exercise pretty early in the morning. (i.e. Matt Hughes' website says he starts at 6am)

Is this just a convenience thing so it doesnt interfere with jobs and other plans or is there some benefit to getting up and doing this all in the morning. I am not a morning person at all so im just wondering if there is another reason for training so early other than practicality?

sorry for the dumb question, and I wasn't really sure where to post this, didnt see a "Noob section" aha.

The earlier you do your conditioning the longer you have to recover before your evening skill session. That`s why I started doing conditioning in the morning. I dunno about others.

Paolo made a great suggestion. If you can't or won't train early morning, get in whenever you can. Matt Hughes also does this for a living and is a family man so I don't see him doing too many things in the evening that takes away from family time. Being a dad I know this all too well.

I usually do any type of workout in the morning, mostly because I'm in Texas and running in 100+ weather totally sucks ass but I would still do it in the morning, I wouldn't recommend waking up too early or anything for it though

If you're a pro training full-time you do it early enough to recover for later training in the day...hell, I'd run my ass off at 6 a.m if it meant going back to bed for a couple of hours before lunch.

If you're like just about everyone else you do it whenever you can and realize the LEAST important aspect of training is WHEN you do it...what you do, how and why you do it are more important.

i can't sleep if i exercise any time after 9pm. i have early (well, 8am) classes + work, so i tend to hit the gym or track at around 3pm.

its more a matter of convenience than anything else

I was going to post the same thing, although it never gets that hot here, I still prefer training in the morning when it's cooler out.

Depending on my schedule, I try to train 2-3 hours after waking up, obviously sometimes I can't do this though.

Freddi Roach talked about this, how fighters need time to rest in between workouts. He was refere to Manny, how he runs a lot in the morning, then rests for a few hours before he boxes.
