What should the Length of your Jumprope be?

.... i've been using my boxing gyms jumprope, and some seem to long, while others seem too short. So i've decieded to go purchase my own, can someone help me on how i can measure a jumprope thats just right for me. Someone told me that it should be as long as your body or some shit like that which makes no sense.

I think its kinda up to you. I like a rope that goes about half way up my ribs but I know some people like it up to their armpits and other like 'em barely over their waist.

The length you need will depend on how you hold your arms when you use it. I don't measure up my body, I just use one that barely hits the ground each time. But I've been doing this for 9 years, so my form is fairly set.

Also, if you're using ropes at the gym that are too large (they'll hit well in front of your feet at the bottom), tie a quick loop by one or both of the handles, it'll shorten the rope for you.

Step in the middle with one foot, and hold the handles up. The end of the plastic/wood handle should be at about armpit height

buddy lee says start with one that goes up to your armpits when you're standing in the center and shorten it as proficiency improves and you need more speed.

And that man knows his jump ropes. I'm still curious if anyone here has used his ropes.
