What to eat before sprinting

Do you guys just eat like a complex carb and a little protein? Or would a banana be good enough?

I eat nothing before running or any other exercise for that matter. I cramp very easy.

I usually eat some fruit about an hour before training and then maybe a carb drink right before training.

Same as above, usually a banana about an hour before training. Then a mixed green tea and greens supplement drink right before working out.

Are you nuts ?

Eating before training or right before spritning ? No way. I eat nothing at least 3 hours before training. Martial arts or fitness stuff. Your stomach needs time to digest the food. It does not process straight away.

I don't sprint but I do hill runs with burpees at the end of each run. Any food in my stomach at the start of the run turns into fetilizer on the hill before I'm done running. I'll drink a carb drink sometimes before hand but I really don't like puking so having an empty stomach and a good PWO drink is my priority.

I think it's common sense that you have to allow time for digestion. Ok, now that we've cleared that....

....I eat the same type of meal that I would normally before I train, regardless if it's sprints, an MT class, or just a GPP session.
