What do I do for a hyper extended elbow?

I was training standup earlier today and hadn't warmed up enough before I threw a really fast hard left hand that felt okay coming out but when I extended it my elbow twinged and it started to throb a bit.

I think I hyper extended it because I can't put much pressure on it so I was wondering if anyone knew how to condition it for the pain and quick recovery?

Elevate it on a pillow and put ice on it. Be thankful that you just hyperextended it. I broke my elbow throwing a baseball now I can't even fully extend it. I hyperextend it all the time because of this.

Thanks for the advice I was wondering if I should put heat or cold on it. Yeah I'm glad because I already have a few other injuries I'm working through so anything worse than this and I would have been pissed.

Same thing happened to me last night.

Although not the smartest thing to do, I just "slept it off" and today it only aches a little while fully extended.

What ever you do, don't put heat on it, ice for the first two or three days
