What should you do?

Depends on what your strength training is trying to accomplish, but keep in mind more calories are burned after you finish weight training than during. Usually if you are doing a very strict diet you'll probably have to lower the poundages a bit, not always the case but dieting can affect strength and recovery.

As Standard has said it depends on what your goals are. If you're looking to work on muscular endurance then I'd say do higher reps with lower weights and if you were looking to get strong then I'd keep the weight high and lower the rep range. This advice is very general though. I'm personally a believer in going heavy and keeping the rep ranges low as I do the core of my conditioning work without weights. I use weights mainly for strength purposes.

Stick to light weight high reps - you'll lose the weight quicker doing endurance work. No sense fucking around on a diet longer than you absolutely have to.

Yeah, diets don't mean shit. You need to make permanent eating, and exercise habits.
