Icon4 Weight lifting and Cardio

So I used to only run, do pushups, and situps, and sometimes pullups.

i could run 2-3 miles pretty easy at a 6mph pace.

but the past 2 months ive been doing a weight program, and working different muscles groups 4-5 times a week. i've gained muscle, and i can see the results (also dieting helped).

but it seems like my cardio is suffering. i can run as fast as before, but now i can feel it takes more effort. i am more out of breath than before near the end of my runs.

what gives? does weight lifting decrease your cardio because your muscles need more blood?

any advice appreciated

Adding the extra muscle makes your heart have to work harder. When I hit the weights hard like you do I can feel the difference also. When I ran I was about thirty pounds lighter then. I'm trying to find a happy medium myself but everybody is different. Good Luck

Aren't you the idiot on the UFC forum wasting time making posts about how you have more money than Chuck Lidell and you wipe your ass with 100's? Maybe run more, instead of bragging on the internet and use some of the money you have to buy toilet paper. Obviously, you don't seem very smart, so heres a tip, money is dirty, you probably caught something in your colon from wiping it down there where it doesn't belong. Too bad you can't just buy some class.

Joe Rogan talks about this a lot, muscles need air, so the more muscles you have the more air you'll need.

Just keep doing the cardio and you'll get used to it.

SAID principal
Specific Adaption to an Imposed Demand. In other words, if you want to get good at running, you have to run. If you want to get stronger, you have you do strength work outs. If you want to improve your conditioning...

I really doubt someone can put on enough muscle in two months to strain their cardio. There are other variables at work here.

If you are working different muscles 4-5 times a week I'm guessing you are doing a bodybuilding-style body-part split that is putting a lot of stress on your body and affecting your recovery. Also, I'm guessing that because you are lifting 4-5 days a week you aren't doing as much cardio. The two of those combined are probably why you feel like you gas faster.

Is this any good , i lift like 2 tijmes a week and the rest mma

I come in and run like 5 kilometer in 20 minutes sometimes i go for 8 , do some cross training for 10 minutes then get a barbell with 10 kg a each side and do 5 sets of squat , military , barbell row , deadlift , stiff legged deadlift and that for 10 reps and 5 sets , then go back to cardio i'll do 6 hill sprints on the readmill after that 50 burpees and a 2 minute wall sit , go back in the weightroom for some rope pulling , weighted dips and weighted pull/chin ups , after that core training and cooling down .

Is this any good or should i change abit?

just core training what does this consist of since your workout will challenge your core quite a lot. I'm no expert but it seems to complicated i would spread it out training cardio, muscular endurance, strength and all the rest seems like it would be more benifitial to have days for each.
