Waking up early to run

Ok I planned on waking up early every day to go run....and for some reason it is harder then I thought....I just cannot fucking get out of bed....I know it is pathetic...I even have a dual alarm...I have just never been a morning person...and I am late for work which starts at 8 am nearly every day...anyone have any advice or suggestions for waking up...or how you do it....and what motivates you to do so....very disappointed and pissed off at myself right now...

try getting to bed an hour earlier than you usually do. Try to get at least 7hrs sleep so you are rested for your morning run.

What I do to motivate myself is by thinking how fat I am, even tho I'm pretty lean. Think of something that will motivate you to get your ass up out of bed....such as your fitness goals. I start work at 8:30 and get up at 6:30 for my morning run.

I know exactly what you are talking about. It is such a mental struggle. I personally set an alarm for about 30 minutes before I want to be up. When it goes off I pop a guarana and then go back to bed. After about 30 minutes the guarana kicks in and I'm good to go.

My advice...when i was in the marines, the rock station was my alarm, so i had motivating music to wake me up, and ready to run, weight train, blah blah.

All in all, an Ipod really helps. and so does at least 8 hours of sleep...and waking up at 6, you might want to concider 530, and then run at 6. that way your body is awake and ready, instead of forcing your body to get up out of bed at 6 only to waste time.

Is there a reason you have to get up and run in the morning? If not...then why do it? It's better to pick a time of day that you'll be consistent with working out. At least you'll stick with it...and not go thru the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with missing a workout. It seems like getting up early is not working and might make you throw in the towel. Hey...we are all different. I used to work out after getting off shift at 11pm....cause I hated getting up early to do it. Now if it's really the ONLY time you can get your workout in....then...you just got to decide what's important to you.
