Uh..are my ribs messed? lol?

Yeh, I got rocked in Judo Thursday night (thrown on my ribs) and whenever I breathe heavy it kidna hurts (not a pain, more of a restriction to extend my chest/ribs)..basically, I can't workout or do any streneuos activity because I'm not ABLE to breathe heavy.

SO, didn't think anything of it - but I lifted up my shirt and sucked in my stomach a little to see my ribs more clearly..the side that I landed on (left) extends outwards noticibly farther than the other side..it's also farther down then the other side. Just wondering if this is normal or I ****ed up my ribs?

Hopefully I'm just being an idiot.

thanks

....Possibly you can have a lil crack in your ribs, or a broken rib, both hurt like hell...

If you have someone in top position like side mount in grappling (heavy person like 100kg or something like it) you will whery soon find out if your rib is busted. If thats the case its about a month/month half until you can train seriously again... (the time it generarely takes a rib to heal)

Thanks. Doesn't seem too long - I guess it's cause a rib isn't as thick as an arm/leg gone

Not really pain - more of an annoyance preventing me from training -_- *getting impatient.

Thanks, though.

Fracturing or Breaking ribs is the sux0rs... It has halted my training numerous times.. Make sure and not to let yourself get out of shape if you really did break your ribs and are forced to recover for a few months...

Sounds like its a bruised rib. Trust me if you broke it or fractured it, you would know. If you are that worried, just go to a drop in clinic and get a x-ray.

Nobody has suggested dislocation. Hurts like a bitch but you can still operate to a certain extent. I had 2-3 dislocated once. Every time I took a breath I would feel extreme pressure, pain, and then exhale rapidly which then deprived me of air. Had to take small breaths until I got to the chiropractor.

I thought I was being a baby, but if it hurts go see a doctor. My dad has also fractured his ribs on vacation and lived with it for a week until he saw a doc. Pain is all subjective, some people are more sensitive than others. Maybe you're just a certified hardass with some busted up ribs. Either way, get it checked out by SOMEONE who knows what they're doing. If it's dislocated they'll just pop it back into place. Mine took some coaxing from some electrodes and heat packs in order to relax my muscles.

Same thing happened to Kalib Starnes on TUF when he gave up during this fight with Kendall. I'd bet that that's exactly what's wrong with yours...
