Two to tango (burpees)
This might be an old idea, but it came to me today and I thought I'd throw it out anyway. It's a nasty little contest to liven up a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Athlete A does 10 burpees, then Athlete B does 10 burpees while A rests. When B finishes, A does another 10, etc. Repeat ad nauseam.
It's a good one for competitiveness; you'll want to do them faster to deny your "friend" rest time.

Or you could do them pyramid style - 1 each, then 2, then 3, etc. Reps and rest time increase together as you and your opponent drive each other ever onwards to fatal burpeecide.

I don't have training partners brave enough to do burpee challenges!
But if I did then this might be a good idea to push the limits.

It's the same setup as a good article I read about pyramid-style greasing the groove with pullups (might be on dragondoor). You can do it solo - I do my pyramid chins sets facing a big wall clock and keep note of how many seconds each set takes.

I had a laugh doing this today, I persuaded my training buddy to do it. We did 10, 8, 6, 5, 6, 8, 10 and it was great. I used it as a warm up. We also did 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 but as the reps got really low it didn't feel like a struggle anymore. I think next time I'm going to do 10, 8, 6, 5, 6, 8, 10 - twice over. It really served as a good warm up along with some sprints.
