How many cardio sessions per week? and how to fit them in?
I train in Thai boxing 2-3 evenings per week. I also lift weights 2 days per week.
I have started doing 2.5- 3.5 mile runs about 3-4 mornings per week.
I am plainning on keeping my thai boxing, and weight training frequency the same, but maybe changing the running to
1x 3.5 mile morning run
1x 2.5mile morning run
1x hill sprints
1x HIIT session
evrey week.
I have been running in the morning and doing weights or thai boxing at night, is this ok?
How would you fit that into a weeks schedule?
Would I be better dropping 1 cardio session? or changing the set up of my cardio sessions?

I would have said the same thing as phenom, but instead of dropping it completely, I'd say do it every other week instead and make it min 5 miles.
Make sure you get a rest day (if you took it really slow, do the 5 mile run the day before the rest day and just do that for that day, if you can work it in)
Other then that I'd say its fine (if your not training for a fight or something, tnen you need to tailor it a bit better)

Wow, you guys don't do very much cardio, imo. I can't believe you are telling him drop more. I've never fought outside of practice mind you but that doesn't seem like much at all to me. Can you guys please tell me what is the norm? Maybe I am overdoing it.

Not to sound like a ass mate, but have you ever done more the 4 sessions of thaiboxing in one week, ignoring lifting and any extra work you might think you need?
edit-I should also say about the working full time as well. When I was a bloody student I only had to be in 14 hours a week, the rest was sleeping and training.
Ah, those were the days (in retrospect I should have gone out more and got more shags)

No, In fact I've never done any thai boxing but I regularly do more cardio than that while training for boxing. Maybe it is because boxing is less intense on the legs than thai boxing? I dunno, I never claimed to know anything and you really weren't very helpful at all there. I asked a question about the norm and already explained that I am not too experienced.

ah right, how many AM fights have you had?
edit- At this point I should point you didn't say you were inexperienced previously, you just said you haven't fought (to which I assume you mean pro)
Anywho, so many dicks here I assume people ask questions to annoy, so I appologise for the lack of info in my last post.
A typical session is 1 1/2-2 hours and after the warm up all I would do is either spar or do pads.
The pad work itself is almost like sprinting for 3 minute rounds...especially if your doing beast rounds.
If you do legs only rounds on the pads, trust me, the draining feels is far more then boxing (sucking in air deeper). Hands only pad work for my gym is seen as a active recovery.
Never done boxing myself in a boxing only, so I couldn't comment.
If you do 4 sessions of MT a week at any decent club, you have some serious fitness on you. The am runs etc are purely for aerobic work and not really meant to be a intense work out because you crawl away from a training session at night (the best I have ever managed is 4 MT sessions a week, 1 or 2 runs straight after the session to kill myself off and a couple of lifting sessions on top)

Interesting, I understand what you mean about the number of dicks and their intentions of annoying. From what you described it sounds like you are still doing a lot more intense cardio than I am even though I normally jog about 25 miles a week. My training sessions sound similar after warm up, 3 minute rounds on the bags or sparing for an hour, no more, no less. Its probably the leg work that makes your cardio much more intense like you said. I don't think I could jog for a mile the day after working the legs like that.
