TFW chinup challenge
I gave this a shot this morning. I weigh 255lbs and rowed yesterday but no excuses I only got 31 crappy reps. I'll try this again a couple of times and post my results if anyone else is interesting in trying it.

The Weekly Warrior Challenge
Every week on my blogs, I give every warrior a mental challenge to improve his or her overall performance. On these weekly e-newsletters, I am going to issue a physical Warrior Challenge.
This week’s Warrior Challenge is to perform as many chin ups as possible in 3 minutes. A video of me performing this test can be found in the video section of the site. I guarantee you will find that this test is difficult, but if it was easy, everyone would be doing it! Depending on what you score, I would suggest that you don’t make another attempt for at least 7 days or until a day or two after the initial soreness subsides.
Although the rules are stated on the video, here they are again:
Start the clock before the first rep, after feet are lifted from the ground.
Get the chin over the bar.
Extend the elbows as close to straight as you can at the bottom of the rep.
Try to keep “kipping” to a minimum.
You can rest however you want, but clock must keep running.
Poor reps in terms of jumping from the ground, chin below the bar or not enough elbow extension do not count.
End counting when 3 minutes have elapsed.
Here is my take on scoring:
30 reps- Needs work
35 reps- Average
40 reps- Good
45 reps- Excellent
50+ reps- Warrior Status
60+ reps- Freakshow
As always, I look forward to hearing (and hopefully seeing some videos) about this test from everyone on the site. Be ready for some soreness in the lats like you have not had before!
Yours in Strength,
Martin
