Tendonitis

I heard BJ Penn talking about tendonitis before his fight with Pulver he was saying thats how you know you're training hard. How do I know if I have tendonitis I got pains in my bicep and elbow its always on my power side I'am a southpaw so I get it on my left side

First of all, that's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. You know you have tendonitis when a trained healthcare professional tells you that you have that injury after having seen you. Second, you can't have tendonitis unless a tendon is bothering you, so unless it's the biceps tendon that is bothering you, you don't have biceps tendonitis.
There is really way to little information in your post to help you out at all.
And once again, if that's really what BJ said, that's really retarded.

I would do what Dan is saying and see a doctor.

But just for kicks, is your pain in any actual joints?

It alternates from the bicep and the elbow joint I'am a vet and I get free healthcare they gave me motrin and a heating pad but that was for something else that was for my right arm when I got my elbow popped by a straight arm bar by a guy that I fought in an amateur fight he had 8 pro fights, thats so convenient when you train for fights

My issue has been the "tennis elbow".

Royally sucks. I have done a lot of work on it, so I am better now.

But it still flares up sometimes. Not fun.

(Plus I have tendonitis in my left wrist)

Never use heat for tendinitis. It causes more inflamation = more pain.

If your problem is an acute pain after a hyper extended punch that is not tendonitis. I have the same problem but I have minimized it with strength training. It's one of the reasons fighters should do bicep curls at least at the end of their workout.
