Tabata style burpees

Is this feasible? A worthwhile pursuit?

I have done that about a half year ago. I did it in the morning and I felt a lot of energy the rest of the day. But it is a little tough.

Now I cycle in the morning 18 km. I do this 5 times a week. I like cycleing better than tabatha burpees. I find cycle very relaxing and I can think very clear when I am on the bike.
I also now do cycling instead of tabatha burpees, because some people on Sherdog wrote that you first need an aerobic base. After having a good aerobic base than also train in anaerobic stamina.
I train in Kickboxing and the Muay Thai fighters in Thailand run ( aerobic stamina ) approximate 8 km in the morning. And alot of pro boxers run also in the morning.

Im not surprised by that.. That would be the reason that tabata burpees are more eficient..;)

You bet it's feasible, especially for a martial artist, IMO.

Check out a great article here: http://www.t-nation.com/findArticle....4-046-training

i do them all the time. i go for 10 intervals (5 minutes).

another thing thats cool that you might wanna try is called a "william" which is like a burpee but without standing up. my interpretation of it and how ive been doing it is starting in a full squat with your ass on your ankles, then jumping and landing in the bottom of a pushup, then exploding from there back to the squat. that way is killer, though im not sure its the "real" way to do a william

go for it!! ross enamaits TUGTWF mentions a tabata/ burpee workout in it.. ive done both tabata and circuits (5 burpees, 10 pushups x 3, 10 burpees, 10 pushups x 2, 5 burpees, 10 pushups x 2).. i think the burpees is an excellent exercise.. you need to do research, try a couple of different workouts, and when you find what works well and fits into your schedule stick to it
