Sweat Shirts while training

I train with my uncle, he has me wear a sweat shirt every day we train. I feel like im going to throw up every time because it is like 95 degrees every day. Is there any advantages to this?

Depends..are you training for a fight? It could get you used to the lights and heat that you'll be faced with in the arena. I believe I saw a professional fighter on here say that once. (Vilo maybe)

I have read that because your body has to work harder to stay cool, you do burn more calories..

Yeah, your body works harder to stay cool, you sweat more, and you burn more calories... but if it's already really hot it's a really really bad idea. Every year you always hear about some high school football kids that die from this...

Sounds like you are getting close to a heat illness. Make sure you are hydrating!!!! There were times when I used to run with a sweatshirt on....if the weather for a race was going to hot,humid... I found it helped my race performance. I"m not sure I can see the benefit in your case though. If I was just training....I wouldn't do it.

In Holland (i was told) they make the fighters wear the plastic suit just to feel like crap while training so that when you are in the ring without it on fight night, you feel great without it.
