Strange pull-ups

Has anybody done pull-ups like these. You will have to watch the clip a bit to see them. Just wondering if they are effective at building the strength to do them with proper form

Negatives, Kipping pullups, assisted pullups will all help you to do legitimate pullups.
Kipping pullups can be something of a full body conditioning exercise. I don't personally do them, but they have their place.

This is a ladies workout. I didn't read the description, but 10-1 reps of BW DL and chins? Unless the goal is to do it in under 5 minutes, who gives a f.

The facility that the vid is shot at has a bunch of "Boot Camp" videos linked as well. What a pack of dingleberries.

Bodyweight Deadlift? Who the hell does a bodyweight deadlift? Not even with a pyramid system would it be hard. Now if they did the 10-1 system on Pull-ups with good form I would be impressed with that. 1.5xBW or 2xBW DL with the 10-1 system would be much more of a challenge. 1.5x would still be doable for beginners and females.

Kipping pull-ups - because you suck and want to claim your workout included a set of 25 pull-ups.

I did a five minute workout of just BW deadlifts, doing as many as possible in the time, that was quite fun and tough. Would only do it once in a while as a way to improve endurance.

a bodyweight deadlift is lifting as much as your own bodyweight ? If it's too easy, how much should you start with ?

As much as is difficult, yet can still be lifted without compromising form.

Crossfitters love the kipping pullup. To me - it's just a shitty, cheat pullup. I think that type of pullup have the potential for shoulder injuries. They are not allowed in the military or in any PT test I have ever taken.
