Started swimming cuz i hate sunburn from running

So i started swimming at my gym yesterday, i remember one of u guys saying that 30 laps would be extremely hard, and wow u guys were right, i got to 15 and took a break and sat in the hot tub for like 10 mins lol. But swimming is pretty fun, i completely suck at it but its gonna be sweet when i start timing my laps and get better

PS. its an indoor pool

Good luck.

As a confidence booster, time yourself in a 100 yard sprint just to get a point of reference in the beginning. Give yourself a month or so and time yourself again in order to see the improvement.

lol. When I read the thread title, I was like "WTF? You hate sunburn so you strip down and go swimming?" I didn't think about swimming in an indoor pool.
And yes, swimming is a great workout.

swimming is somethiing anyone should incorporate into work out regularly. A lot of knowledgeable pple say that it s the best work out in the world.

And I double agree with u (but not for the sunburn) : running sucks shit. I just can't do it.

I love swimming. But at my old gym (it was a ballys) I kept getting sick from the damn pool and that kind of turned me off to it.

Swimmings a great workout.

Personally, I hate it though. For gym in highschool we would swim ten warmup lengths, then on fridays swim for 12 minutes straight.. Going into the unit i couldn't do the 12 minute, but near the end it was possible for me.

Swimming can be an awesome workout. I love swimming (compete in triathlons), and its all about technique. You should check out totalimmersion.net to help you out with a good technique. I never even use my legs to swim anymore. I prefer to swim over running (I have to run for work all the time)...
