Sprinting the long way of the track and walking the curve.

Does this count at HIIT? Ive been doing that to get rid of the fat that I have for wrestling. On my lfiting days, I do moderate running for like 30 minutes after lifting. Is this enoiugh to burn fat? I usually take sundays off. Will this help em burn fat? Im more worried if what im doing on the track is considered HIIT.

Sprint 100m, walk 100m....That should be a work to rest ratio of 1:3 or 1:4.

I'd work 400m too.

If you feel like you are going to puke and die after about 20 minutes its HIIT.

Yes, that is HIIT. Some people used timed intervals, some people use distance intervals(what you're doing here).

Try fartleks, raise the tempo of your run during your moderate cardio as you feel like it. It's a laid back version of HIIT, but it works.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fartlek
Here's a link that might help point you in the right direction.

It's actually LIIT.

Lower intensity interval training.

Try this one instead.

5 minute light jog for warm up

20 second sprint
10 second rest (walk)

Repeat sprint/rest 8x if you can

5 minute light jog or walk to cool down.

The 10 second rest periods will kill you. You probably won't be able to do 8 of them the first time out.

20 sec sprint
10 sec pushups
20 sec sprint
10 sec squat thrust or burpees

thats a favorite of mine.
4x
45-60 sec between your 4-4min rounds
each of the 4 rounds i mix it up a little bit for the ten sec periods w/ other LI exercises. you could walk or jog though.(preferably jog)
IMO if its a good sized track the curve might be too long a walk.

shite! unless our not in great shape, but you wrestle, so you might be.
