Sore wrist advice

Hi, can anyone give me some advice for a sore wrist?
I was doing some clap pushups while I was sick and I guess I wasnt concentrating on form.

Anyway I have some pain on the inside part of my wrist running towards my thumb. Wrist movement towards and away from my thumb is painful.

Will a brace be good to get?
Thanks.

As I've learned, if it's bad enough to ask about it, it wouldn't hurt to go to the doctor.

Rest and Ice! rest being the best for a wrist. Ice it for a few hours though.

I'll assume you mean ice for 7-10 minutes every few hours. I don't think you should ice anything but beer for longer than 10 minutes.

you are right bacon my formula is 10 min every 4 hour for only a day or 2 max~ should have been more detailed. I forgot to mention ibprofin/advil also. But do NOT heat it even taking a hot shower/hottub whatever will make a sprain worse, you only have to avoid heat for a few days though then its ok.

Sounds like the ligaments. Does it "snap" and "pop" when you move the wrist? If not, good, then it'll probably go away in a couple of days. If it does, you should get something to stabilize the wrist. If you train with it, be sure to wrap it and tape it real good.

I've hade a quite severe ligament problems on my left wrist since november and it's really hard to get rid of so take it easy and be careful...

I had my wrist examined and x-rayed but if you don't want to do that, here are two links I found helpful:

I already know the answer, but I'll ask anyways. What kind of lower arm training do you do? Any grip work or wrist exercises?

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, it does pop once in a while.

Haha grip training. None habitually- got some coc grippers that I mess with once in a while.
I figure with the pullups and other excercises I have some of my grip training covered. =P

THANKS!

Sorry for hijacking the thread sponge but, Urban, what kind of lower arm training do you recommend, especially now that I'm trying to "rehab" my wrist?
