Train a lot, and dont start smoking again. Work on your diet too and you'll feel a lot better energy and conditioning wise in a few months.

Congrats on quiting. Having done it myself I know it can be hard. A week into it is probably the hardest part. Stay strong, it gets easier.

How long until you get in shape, really depends 100% on you. There is no set time it will take you. It all depends on how much you smoked, how fast you recover and how hard you train. Since there is nothing you can do about the first two, you can only focus on the third.

wut kinda smoke are we talking about.... i heard for your lungs to get into average shape after quitting ciggarrettes (no matter how long or how much you smoked) that it would take 6 months to a year... but if it's budha it's more mental than physical

good luck!

Don't go back to sucking the nicotine d**k. It's going to take a while to get out af y!ur system depending on how long and how much you smoked.

I actually thought that the effects of smoking reverse rather quickly after a person quits. A lot of factors come into play, how much were you smoking and for how long.

Bottom line is, you quit, good for you. You've got a tournie coming up, so train hard and give it your all.

I was a pack a day smoker (Pall Mall unfiltered) for several years.

One night I woke up and could barely breath, like asthma.
It scared me enough to quit the next day.

I can honestly say it took me about a year to fully recover. I had given myself asthma (according to my Doctor) and had to use an inhaler for most of that year.

Still, within maybe 3 months of quitting I felt much, much better. I could've competed within 3 months of quitting. Not at 100%, but certainly in decent shape.
