Shoulder Injury Question

So I've just recently started doing dumbell chest presses to replace the 40lb vest weighted push ups I used to do for my chest routine. About a week ago my shoulder felt pretty sore after a serious workout session. So I waited 2-3 days (can't remember whether 2 or 3) before working out again. Well, today it hurts again after hitting the weights hard again last night.

The pain is not muscular soreness. It seems to be maybe ligament or tendon. It mainly just manifests when moving my arm forward from a hanging position as if to give a hand shake. Anyone have any experience with this? How long should I avoid exertion with it?

Please Help!!! I hate not working out!!!

Sounds like a rotator cuff injury..I had the same problem a while back. Definitely get it checked by a doc.

dude.

why would you ask for medical advice on an online forum. but luckily for you i am a trained and fully liscensed MD.

that sounds like a torn rotator cuff to me.

make sure to do all exercises that cause intense pain and burning and dont be a pussy, push through it.

Sounds more like an AC sprain than a rotator cuff injury, but since you can't do any assessments on a forum I would agree and say you should go see a doctor...
