sandbag backpack vs. wieght vest

Hey guys, so is it dangerouse for like your lower back for examplet to throw a back pack full of ziplock sandbaggies on and do your normal cardio workout. I run sprints up this pretty good stairs and want to up the intensity......cant afford a wieght vest byt can do the ziplock sandbags in a back pack.....with the wieght vest the wieght is held closer to your body and distributed differently.

I know the back pack would feel different, maybe bounce a little more, but would i be risking injury?

Can i throw the back pack on and do burpees? Squats? Etc?

While the vest would do a better job of distributing the weight, a back pack would work fine. If you can, find one with a hip belt to keep the lower portion from bouncing off your lower back.

Sometimes i'll use a backpack with a weight plate wrapped in a towel to cut down on bouncing.

It can work but will throw off your gait.,and will put more pressure on your lower back. That is why the weighted vest distributes the weight evenly.
