Running, skipping, and swimming?

Would I be right in thinking when done correctly, for correct length of time and for right number of days these are the three best excercises for improving a stand up fighters stamina?

you left out sparring and heavy bag / mitt rounds. I believe that, even for a standup fighter (i.e. not mma?), the three you mentioned should be used in addition to practicing your sport with intensity.

if you want to get better at throwing punches, kicks, etc. hard, intense, and fast over a long period of time. throw punches, kicks, etc. with intensity, speed, and power over a long period of time

lol "To get better at punching or kicking, punch or kick" is the statement of mufuckas who are usually scared shitless of roadwork.

There's plenty guys in every gym who can hit the bag for hours, then you put them in the ring/cage and they're gassed within 2 minutes, because beating up bags only gets you better at beating up bags. Well-rounded training including roadwork, conditioning, AND sport-specific routines kicks the ass of any singular philosophy that breaks down regimens to one line of thinking/working.
