Running Shoes

Hi guys, my current running shoes are starting to fall to pieces so I'm planning on buying some new ones. I heard people recommend those running shops where they monitor how you run and recommend you a shoe but that sounds expensive and as a student I'm on a budget, so I was wondering if anyone had any cheaper running shoe's they would recommend? I'm hoping to spend less than £30 (about $60).

I generally run anywhere from 4-7 miles about 3 or 4 days a week and always outdoors.

Thanks.

Hello mate

I would suggest you get on ebay and try and find a deal on asics.

I got some used runners with spikes for including P&P £13. They've done less then 1 mile (sprinter) and they're in good shape. Will come in handy for when its muddy and I want to get some hill runs in around local manor garden estates.

I remember seeing some going for £35 minus P&P but they were from new.
My current asics have lasted me quite well, probably 500 ish miles in the last 9 months

I would go to a store that focuses on running and running shoes and get fitted. They should have something that is best for you and meets our budget.

Quality = go to a quality running shoe store and get fitted.

Cheap = just do research on what you want- more cushion, deeper grooves for trail running, street running shoes etc. it all depends on what you really need/want.

I personnaly use Asics for running on the streets- but there are plenty of others for street use.

The people that work at the real running shops will just want to watch you run a few feet to see what your gait is like and to see if you run on the inside of your foot or the outside of your foot. Then they'll just recommend a pair of Asics or New Balance that are made for runners that run that way. It's not like they custom build the shoe or anything. Really if you are going to be running alot it's the best thing to do. At least see what shoe they recommend and if you want, shop around to see if you can get it cheaper.

See while I have done this 4-5 times (and subsequently bought the shoes recommended else where for a fraction of the price) they always seem to give me a choice of 3-4 pairs of asics.

They look at your running style on a treamil surrounded by mirrors and see what lands first and nominate shoes that have the structure to minimise over stressing in those areas

going to a running oriented store is a good call, it did wonders for me
(knee pain before vs no pain after the different pair)

though I would say buy the first pair from the store that helps you out, just to not be a douche...
when those get worn out, then you can hit the internet.

Where did you go to get the foot analysis done?
