Running pre- or post-workout?

I don't know if this topic has been covered before or not, I don't like the search function so you'll read it again if you've read it before. I need to know what you guys think about running before lifting versus running after lifting. I've read that running post-workout stunts muscle growth, I've read that running pre-workout wears out your muscles and you don't lift nearly as well, I've read that lifting builds up lactic acid and running after lifting merely burns up this instead of hitting the fat stores, etc. There is so much conflicting information, I need help sorting through it. Please let me know what either has or hasn't worked for you specifically (i.e. through experience). Thanks.

I'm about to get my degree in exercise physiology (just saying so to lend myself some credibility), and this is what seems to work for a lot of trainers i work with and talk to. Since running before your workout or after your workout can have possible negative effects, try running in the morning, way before you even workout, and then possibly some light cardio after your workout. This way you get the full benefit without being tired in the gym or possibly stunting muscle growth.

Wherever you read this from should immediately be discounted as a reliable source. You don't use lactic acid as fuel.

Well if you are serious about it then your first sentenses of the post should be: What kind of work out? What kind of running?

For me, it's running after. Most serious athletes seem to run.....recover.....then workout/lift, which is actually good....but not all of us have the luxury of spreading our exercise like that. I used to lift after running about 10 miles, and it was useless. I already burned all my calories and got zero out of the lifting.

why not just run on days you are not working out? I have also read that doing sets of sprints is better than long distance running. Please do correct me i I am wrong.

0 out of the lifting?? are you serious?? I do this same routine and I see gains on everything.. Sure I am sure the gains would be even bigger if I didnt run before my lifting, but I also wouldnt be as lean.. I like it..
