Running 1.5 miles

My goal is to run 1.5 under 12 minutes. Right now, im at 1mile in 10 mins. I was in such a bad shape at the start of June 2006.I was 225 6'2, now im around 215 6'2 and am 20 years old. I also work on weights everday mostly.. My workout with the gym+running is around 2 hours everyday. Here are some of things im comfused about, am hoping to get some answers.
1.) When is it good to workout on weights and cardio? morning? evening? (my guess is morning
2.) How can i improve my cardio? (I run at around 5.2 KM/HR speed on tredmill)
3.) For running, whats better? Tredmill or The streets?
4.) How should i work on weights? 1 day back, arms and mid area and next day chest and legs? Or workout all of the body 1 day and rest the next?
5.) If i gain muscle and lose fat, will that effect my cardio?
6.) Do more sets with lighter weights or more weight but less reps to gain muscle mass?
and at last

Is wandy vs chuck gonna happen?
and when is iron mike's 1st fight?

1- There is no set time in my opinion. However it is good to develop a routine that you at least loosely adhere to. Your body will get used to that specific time and activity of the day, and will hopefully perform at it's peak then. I lift and run best from about 1pm-7pm. I am not worth anything in the morning.

2- For cardio, run, play sports, swim, jump rope, anything that makes you suck wind and sweat a lot. I ran track, so I think running is great. However, if you do some sort of wrestling club or any kind of grappling, continuous drills can make you really tired and provide a great workout too.

3- I hate treadmills. I will not run on them, period. The conveyor belt is moving and you mostly just worry about picking up your legs and moving them. I prefer to actively push the ground, and I generally find it more fun. The best for you is actually grass. It's nicer on your joints than concrete or asphault. Asphault is also somewhat better than concrete.

4- Check out the strength and conditioning forum. Im trying out the Bill Starr 5x5 plan.

5- The more muscle you gain, the more calories you burn. Do not judge your progress on how much you are losing at this point. Judge it on how you look, feel, and perform. If you pick up muscle mass while losing some fat, you may not weigh any less, but you will SURE as hell be in better shape. Feel free to use a scale, but IMO concentrate more on performance and looks. Watch the flab burn off.

6- Again, check out the strength and power section. There is all the info in there.

What TDonovan said is pretty much what id suggest.

As for question 2. Id take a couple of sessions to do some sprint work.

I dont really lift weights all that much, if i do its various curls and tricep work, so im probably not one to tell ( i only really do body weight excercises like push ups and dips). But ive heard that it is harder to loose fat and gain muscle at the same time.

Ive heard people on here say focus on one or the other first. You may push yourself too far to gain muscle and loose weight, if you push yourself to far at an early stage, people often give up.

I've seen so many people come into the gym and say they want to loose fat and gain muscle and they do everything in one session a day for a week then wont be seen again.

Plus, i fucking hate treadmills. its not really running. If you run 1.5 miles on a tread mil in say 12 mins, almost garunteed it'll take you longer/you'll find ti harder outside.

Plus its so fucking boring

Treadmills are shit. I spent a month or so running like crazy on one, like an hour+ at a good pace. It didn't carry over at all.

If you're going to use a treadmill, try running at a 2 degree incline. It's not the same, but it's closer to the road than otherwise.

Running on a treadmill does not carry over to track running. If you want to see the true equivalent numbers, then you would have to put an incline of around 2.0 or more. However in my case, I stopped running on treadmills altogether and now only run at my college tracks. But its still a good way to start running but you just have to push yourself further on them.

Stop using a treadmill or any other running machine they will not carry over outside (In my experience at least)

When i started to run outside I probably got 4-5 times the work out I did on a machine.
