Runners high
Best feeling ever, amirite?
I love endorphins.
No need for drugs.
Does anyone else get this often? I only get it when its an intense run, like 6 miles of up hill and downhill for up to an hour. The feeling after though is magical.

I get a "boxers high" I guess when I really go intense on heavy bag work, like maybe 6 rounds or so. I feel euphoric for an hour afterwards.
Some runs leave me feeling really peaceful also.
I generally feel better after any work out really. It's half the reason to work out.

Best thing for my saturday morning hangover when my head is throbbing. 45 minute ride, I feel like a million bucks. Stressful day at work? Same deal, I can feel the stress melting away. This is one reason why my wife will never question my purchasing of cardio equipment, she knows how I am when I don't get my fix.
Heavy lifting not going to failure also has a similar effect. Try doing a couple of sets of barbell snatches.

I think it varies. Ive had great runs of 40 minutes and got amazing highs, ive had 90 minute runs and got them
Hell, most of the time I get one. sometimes though I feel like shit afterwards.
I do agree, they are the greatest feeling in the world.
had one the other day and people thought i was on something, i was off the walls and just giddy.

Of all the running I do, I've only ever gotten the runners high twice. It's like something clicked in my body and I felt like I could run forever with no effort. Each time was under completely different conditions, so I have no idea how to re-create it.

just consistent, I think its more of the rhythm of breathing/stride
I really get myself in tune breath to step ratio and I just get in an amazing rhythm where I dont ever want to stop. I get that feeling and its better than any drug i would imagine.
