Ross on Tabata

In Ross' article on Tabata intervals he says
"This program is not intended for continued use,"

Why is that? Is he implying that the intensity or form of exercise should be changed so as to not plateau? Or is he saying by continuing doing diff types of intervals you will overtrain?

Quick reply

"Hello Andre,

Thanks for the note.

Regarding the statement that you have referenced, I was simply suggesting that one should not completely abandon outdoor conditioning methods (ex. interval training). Indoor alternatives are useful, but should not mean the end of all outdoor conditioning drills. For example, hill sprints and interval running still have a place (although are not always possible due to poor weather).

Ultimately, variety is the key, regardless of the modality.

Best of luck,
Ross"

He is one of the few that does. Others take days or weeks.

He doesn't do it like that. He is genuine. I rarely talk up another trainer and his programs. But Ross is very smart, and goes out of his way to help, and that's why so many people buy his stuff.
