Ribcage Strengthening?

I did a search on the various Training Discussion forums, and saw lots of threads on ribcage injuries, cracked ribs/etc, but none that seemed to match my basic question... so here it goes.

After rolling my ribs are always a little sore.. not painful/tender, but a little sore. (presumably from things like Knee-to-belly, being in a tight guard, body triangles, etc. )

So my question is 'Is there some set of exercises that will strengthen the muscles around the ribcage?' Oblique situps? DumbBell Pullovers?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks revok. So is that the answer then? --> "Strengthen thine abs. Strengthen thine ribcage"?

I think so, especially as regards any lateral and rotational core movements as they tend to incorporate the intercostals. Of course the best method of protecting your giblets is probably a thick layer of fat...

Send a message via AIM to Poseidon9
Condition the obliques/intercostals so that they will absorb the impact instead of your fragile bones.
