Rate my MMA summer fat loss routine inc.diet
Hey guys,
I'm 17 years old and I've got 2 months to lose some fat and get in shape, and have sorted out a routine for myself as well as a diet. I read the stickies, but would appreciate any comments or suggestions. I'm not grossly overweight, but have a fair amount of fat that needs to go. I weigh 169lbs, but am pretty short and looking to get down to lean 155 or so.
Monday- Shoot box class and rest
Tuesday-Boxing or/and MMA class
Wednesday-Weights and MMA class
Thursday- Boxing or/and MMA class
Friday-Weights and rest
Saturday-Wrestling class and MMA class
Sunday-MMA class
Occasionaly i will have a protein shake or two after class and on weights days. Obviously all these classes are at a proper gym and am being taught. Each class is pretty damn tiring and around one and a half hours long , so i reckon i am getting some decent cardio in.
Diet:
Breakfast- Porridge/Nonsugary ceral with some fruit
Lunch- Tuna sandwich(wholemeal bread)/Pasta/Toast with honey/Jacket potato
Dinner- Rice/Pitta bread(wholemeal) with some sort of home made curry, or grilled fish and chips, or some fish with veggies and potato.
Any suggestions or mistakes u can see in my diet will be greatly appreciated. Realistically, would it be possible with this routine for me to get down to a lean weight in 2 months? Is my diet still too unhealthy? Any ideas for what else i could eat (esp. for lunch) would be cool. Of course i am staying away from processed foods and sugary stuff.
Thanks a lot

...You've planned yourself a busy summer. Keep in mind that you should give yourself at least one day of rest or one easy day for recovery, or else you risk burning yourself out. I know you put one day as weight's and rest, but you might want to reconsider that and move the lifting to another day so you have one day of complete rest.
Other than that, I can't believe you posted your summer "fat loss routine" on the conditioning forum without any cardio or gpp in it at all.

porridge!?!? fish and chips!?!?! where the hell are you from? hahaha just kidding.
well it seems fine but also when are you eating breakfast before or after your workouts? its usually better to fit in some light cardio before your first meal to get your metabolism kickstarted for the day and also to burn off any excess fat/calories from the day before. the fish sounds good but instead of chips you should go for something like beans, or vegetables. and if you do have a potato you should try to switch it with a sweet potato or yam. they're better for you. also i dont know if you are doing it but if the sandwich has cheese on it you should cut it out.

Eat more meals but with smaller portions throughout the day, maybe have a cup of vegetables or a few pieces of fruit in mid-afternoon.
Take a day off, I tend to do one day off for every 3 or 4 I'm doing stuff. Also, get some cardio in there, whether it be an early morning run or a dedicated cardio session at the gym.

I added in some morning jogging/running into my daily routines before breakfast and its really worked for me so far. In addition, you definitely want to add more vegetables to your diet. I'd add in two small meals there and a serving of vegetables at each meal excapt for breakfast. Plus, like Dan's Knuckles said, you need a rest day in there too. And make sure you're getting enough sleep, rest and recovery are just as important as everything else.

Stretch man and commit yourself. Stretching in my opinion is the hardest thing to do but make time for a solid stretchnig session maybe three times a week where you really try to increase our flexibility. Also Stretching is great for your rest day.

Sorry to double post but add more veggies but do with by snacking "healthy". Baby carrots, sliced apples, celery with peanut butter and raisains, sliced cucumbers etc and lots of water (that should go without saying.

Your diet is garbage, go read the stickies in the Dieting & Supplement forum. Also, take a day off, you're going to run yourself into the ground.
