question about too much cardio?

I ussually go running 3 or 4 times a week. I am going to start riding my mtn. bike to work (instead of driving and being lazy!!}next week, which doing at a farely strenuous pace will take me around an hour and a half to get there. So that will be around 3 hours of riding my bike, if I also keep on running as much as I do will that be too much? Should I cut back on running? I only run to helpe keep in shape for my muay thai training I am not training for any runnning competitions. Thanks ahead of time for what ever advice I get.

Well too much is really an individual thing so its hard to say yes thats too much for you it could be for me but maybe not for you. If you start to feel kinda slugish and slow, your punches and kicks have no pop to them or your just sore and tired alot then your overtrained and need to cut back. If your feeling great then no worries its hard to have too much cardio but it is possible.

What is the point of your cardio? Are you running and biking to be a good thai boxer or to be a good runner / biker who thai boxes?

If you want to be a good thai boxer you need to do more strenuous cardio, but not so much volume.

If you want to look ripped, you are well on the right path.

thanks for the input, i will keep doing both and ifi feel overtrained then i will have to cut back. I am only biking to save $$ on gas and car insurance so if i have to i would just have to drive a little bit if i ended up feeling like it would be to much.
just to add for my running I do sprints at the track and then i go for about a 5 mile jog, 3 to 4 times a week. Is that a good routine for training for muay thai?

Just listen to your body. Activity is good and your reasons for biking more are sound.
