Besides fitness and what not, don't forget there are other requirements as well. If I were you, I'd be hitting the shooting range every weekend for practice.

I can hit someone in the head at 75+ feet with a pistol. I'm sure they'd want you better than that. 75 feet doesn't sound like a big deal... wait until you try to aim and you realize your front sight covers more than the target itself.

I can throw a dumbell across the weight room 10 feet and hit a guy in the foot. Does that count?

lol. I teach rifle marksmanship, and it didn't even occur to me to suggest this.

If you want to learn basic marksmanship with a rifle, there is almost certainly an Appleseed somewhere near you. The Appleseed clinics don't teach any kind of fancy tactical fighting, but focus on teaching the steps to firing a shot and consistently shooting to 4 MOA.

Honestly, that's what you need first. Combat shooting just takes the basic fundamentals and compresses them in to an extremely short time period. If you don't have them mastered and understand them thoroughly on a static, known distance range, you can't apply them in combat.

I was going to do the military thing. It's in my blood. My father, his father... yada yada. My mom and fiance said no dice. I am the only one that can carry on my family name. I went through training. I am a gun lover. I own one, used to have several... in the process of picking up more.

Lmao.... yep having excellent endurance and being fit won't cut it in the military... certainly not SEALs.

So what about this book like?? I've read reviews and people seem to say he focuses alot on God, How Great America is and the reasons for going to war and justifying them and then contradicting himself??
I'm going on holiday in 13th Days and would like a book to read so Im considering this after reading the intro but If its more a political book about defending Bush decision, and god etc... then I think i'll pass. If its an epic tale of what the man went through then I think I'd like it

You disagree with Bush's decision making? If you don't agree with him and you don't like America then fuck off!!!

lol j/k... I don't think anyone liked his final decisions. Not to say all was bad. But this is not the time or place to talk politics.

But I was serious about the America part. lol
