Puking?

Is it good to run til you puke?

We did suicides at wrestling club yesterday til we threw up. I felt really drained today.

Is running til puking a good idea?

Puking is not a good measure of exercise effectiveness. Some people puke easily, others don't at all.

Personally i like it when i feel i have to puke. It lets you know you are working hard and your cardio is definitlely improving. I never run til puking tho, thats just gross and feels horrible. Run til your about to puke then jog until ok, repeat. Goodluck this season

How could you think that vomiting is ever a good thing while working out? I doubt if it harms you (at least on an infrequent basis- i won't go into possible eso****eal scarring or neural problems of which claims are iffy) but it certainly is an inconvenience and should never be a goal. Is commonsense just lacking in the world today?

I think common sense is lacking. The idea of purposely running til you puke seems a little like lifting till you tear something. That's good for you right?

yes. if im not wrong, puking is caused by over-excessive amounts of lactate in the body.

Puking isn't entirely good at all, it depends on how easily you puke or what made you puke to determine if it's "good", though puking shouldn't be a goal in ANY of your exercises. I suppose it tells you that you pushed your body to the limit, but on the other hand, puking too much isn't healthy.

If I don't puke once or twice a year from an intense session, I'm not training hard enough.
Pussies.

This guy sounds like he's trying to set up puking 3 or more times per week as a 'Good training habit'. That is not pussy behavior, it's not intelligent training either!

Don't exercise UNTIL you puke, exercise to the edge, like someone else said, and then let your body recover a bit. You'll definitely be able to push yourself much farther if you don't go damaging your systems like that.

Puking doesn't make you a "man". Nor does it effectively gauge how far you've pushed yourself. As mentioned, some people are pukers and some aren't. Alot of it has to do with how you control your breathing, swallowing, or cool down period.

Most people that puke after hard exercise do so not because they push themselves harder but because their fuckin idiots that stop moving, kneel to the ground or bend over, breath in through their mouth or try to swallow when their throat is extremely dry. It's amazing how a puker can become a non-puker just by paying attention to how they control their body after intense training.
