Problems with Allergies

It's spring time and I usually get minor allergies from the pollen and crap. But this year, it seems pretty bad. My eyes are all swollen and I'm all stuffed up. I stopped going to BJJ, lifting, and yoga for about 2 weeks. I feel mad tired all the time. I'm taking Claratin and Benadryl for it.

I recently returned to yoga and actually felt a little better.

Anybody else have this problem?

If so, do you feel better with activity or taking a break from it?

I'm considering going to a doctor, but he'll probably just give me drugs.

You can't go wrong talking to the doctor. Tell your doc what sports you are involved in, how you do not want to feel drowsy from drugs they may prescribe and they will help you out.

I have the exact same problem. I've kept up with my training (sort of), but with not really being able to breath out of my nose and my asthma acting up I gas really fast. I take claritin too, but benadryl tends to knock me out. Have you tried eye drops and suddafed? The suddafed works really well for my sinuses.

I'm in the same boat. The pollen is horrible in my area this year and I ended up with some sort of horrendous sinus infect, so doing anything seems to take a ton of effort. I've just been taking some herbs and some decongestant. Anybody have any good advice for clearing this shit up?

I posted basically the same problem on a lifting site and got the advice to try singulair. I can't remember if I've tried it or not.

If things get too bad, you can try to get your doc to give you some oral prednisone or injected cortizone.

I've heard you can get prednisone at online pharms, but I don't know that for sure.

I am a nursing student right and they sort of go over this. The book says to drink lots of water to thin your secretions and if your taking allergy meds they tend to dry you out so your water intake will most likely have to be increased.

I have shitty allergies to and I notice one I get goin in terms of lifting or whatever Most of my symptoms magically go away....Maybe something to do with your endorphins, who knows.

Anyway I did try these nasal strips at night. The reason why your probably tired is that during the night your oxygen levels are not right cuz your all stuffed up and so when you awake your all sluggish cuz your a little oxygen deprived. That and the benydrl totally gets you sleepy as well.

Water
nasal strips at night
Just stay away from fucking grass and shit. Once the summer dries everything out we should be cool

Ok I am back to go be a slave to my studies. bye bye

Hi, I'm new. Flame on...

I have the same problems as this guy and some others in this thread. I'm on a nasal spray (Nasocort AQ) and also on Zyrtek 10mg, but I still get bouts of breathlessness. My doc has stated I can take OTC sinus meds, but recommended against addt'l antihistamines b/c of possible reactions, drowsiness, etc.

Other than water, and other than more meds, any suggestions?

Also, found this post with the 'search' feature... not sure how helpful it is.
