Belly Fat

When Im put on weight, It goes specifically to my belly - the area from about an inch above my navel to just above my groin. I can guess my weight in the morning within a pound, just by looking at that area.

I am not built at all. If I work out the abdominal area with crunches and sit ups, will it still show there when I gain weight, or will it show somewhere else?

the distribution of fat around your body is genetically pre-determined. Short of surgery, you cannot re-distribute your fat, only lower and raise total bodyfat.

Crunches just put abs under your belly fat, you gotta do cardio to get them to show

Weight training is actually your best bet - It takes more calories to sustain muscle and so you're burning them even while you rest.
If you want a good quick workout - try circuit training. Make sure you especially work your major muscle groups, quads, chest, back, shoulders.
You also gotta eat well.

No, diet is the key to obtaining a low body fat percentage. As LCDforMe said, calories in have to be less than calories out. Any form of work that burns calories helps but in and of itself will do nothing to flatten your stomach. A low body fat percentage is the only way to get your abs to shine through. Everyone has a six-pack underneath their fat.

While muscle mass does constantly burn calories in order to maintain itself, it's not such a significant number to pick weights over cardio. Not to say that you're wrong. Lifting heavy does require more calories per time for the amount of effort expended up to a point and the strength benefits are nice.

bodyweight circuit training is your best bet to loose fat the fastest and keep your muscle. it's a form of a anaerobic cardio and those are probably the best way but it's intensity puts off some people but you can gradually build on it.

here's my daily little short awakening training

5 sets of all of them in a row:

handstands
pull-ups
one-legged-squats
dips
hanging knee/leg raises
headstand leg raises
knee jump

they are very hard to do, i do from 3-10 reps on all of them but i have almost no rest inbetween all of them. try it and don't forget to always maintain proper posture and breathing during the exercise and inbetween.

common sense is to do both but to focus on lifting weights unless your doing high intensity interval training.

i do agree that diet is the best way but in my experience it wasn't, it was pure intensity workouts in the mornings. my take on it is if i do high intensity training in the morning, my ****bolism will be high the whole day and not only that it puts you in a very energized state which makes almost anything in life seem a little dull because it feels easy.
