Post Your HIIT Regime
It doesn't matter if it's sprints, heavy bag intervals, burpees, beating on your cousin, or banging your buddy's wife. Post up your interval sessions here, and number of times a week you do this. Fuck, just post it all, ok?

I'm doing 400m sprints X 5 with 90 seconds rest in between, two times a week.

40 yards = 36.5m. That seems like a pretty short sprint. What is your reasoning, time and interval times? Plus, are the plyo jumps included as part of this interval? And yes, I know I'm like a two year old that has just figured out the word "why".

I think he's looking for a greater plyometric load than what a longer sprint would induce.
I do the same, I take my explosive endurance conditioning from other sources.

Burpee rounds, not burpees+ shadowboxing like Ross says, but just straight burpees
5x1.5min rds, 1min rest. Alternating regular burpee with tuck jump...
Give this a shot and im sure you will die
Jump rope sprints 6-7x2min rds..... high knees and consecutive double unders, though i still think the burpee rds are much harder
Hill sprints run up, jog down, repeat for 15 minutes, causes paralysis.

Pretty much what Chad said. I do it to get a good plyo workout. It's the best way to work on your fast twitch muscle which get you ripped. I do my sprints first then go do my plyo jumps. This is all I do for cardio. I never run long distance and have had great results.

I used to do burpee rounds religiously. They are murder!
