Post-training depression
Does anyone experience this, as well?
Lately, after a training session Ive noticed that I feel down after a class at my MA school.
Not over anything in particular, just a depressed feeling.
It only happens after a class, not after working out on my own.
Any advice?

I suggest going down to the Sattelite and having a nasty, grease covered Grilled Cheese while downing a nice tall Nothern Lights ESB.
But, that's a Spokane specific remedy, so if you are out of town, I dunno what to tell you.

What about the rest of the time? And how long does it take your mood to return to "normal". When you say depressed, what symptoms if any are you experiencing?
I know I feel better after weightlifting or something like that, but it wears off sooner than I'd like and it's back to feeling like crap (at least lately).

Its just a feeling of being sad.
Not because of any particular thing or event, and once Im in that state I recognize it for what it is, the feeling I get after class. It lasts an hour or so.
Im wondering if this is common for most people or not.

I just get hit with feeling sad at times. It happens more often than not when I think of why i am not actually doing what i like in life enough. I get this way when i don't eat enough or spend too much time alone.

Since its associated only with working out, my guess is that your blood sugar is dropping too low post workout. Try eating something with a mix of carbs and protein before your workouts, like muscle milk, balance bars, or zone bars. The carbs will keep your blood sugar up, while the protein slows their digestion so your blood sugar doesn't spike.

No, I stay well hydrated. Most of the time.
Lots of fiber, low fats, very little junk food. I am on the Weight Watchers diet, minus the meetings. Foods have points and youre allowed so many points a day, etc.

Perhaps you should consider switching gyms. It could be that you are not getting what you need where you currently train. Lets us know if your depression symptoms get anyworse. Depression is not a thing to take lightly

I think that Ice and Corizone is correct.
I did a workout yesterday an hour after waking up and did not eat.
The workout was semi intense (Yoga) and afterward I felt nearly the same way as I was descibing. Its unusual since Im prior military, and we would do PT first thing in the morning before eating, and I never felt this way until now.
Good news, this will be the first time Im being encouraged to eat more....
