Podfitness.com: Running with Bas Rutten?!
So I recently bought a good heartrate monitor (Polar F11) and gave my gf my old one (F1, lol), and the box had a little sticker that said free 2 month trial with podfitness.com. So I figure what the heck, I already have Nike+ on my ipod, why not add even more stuff to it. So I get on there, put in my info and who comes up as one of my top 10 trainer choices? None other than El Guapo himself! So I pick his thing, which is Running with Bas Rutten, which is good because I never enjoy running, whatsoever, and I tell the thing which songs I want in the playlist, and it makes the mix of the mp3 and off I go! First time was brutal, left me hurting, almost threw up a couple of times (could've been my fried pickles and buffalo tenders I had for dinner), and I actually enjoyed it! You can go and sign up for a free 2 month trial if you'd like, I think some people would enjoy it. Jeremy Horn also has a thing on there, haven't done his tho. Here are the stats on my run:
Distance: 4.19 mi
Time: 41:58 min
Avg. Pace: 9:59 min/mi
Max HR: 178 bpm
Avg HR: 159 bpm
Cal burned: 419 (35% according to the HR mon.)
Good supplement to a current program (in this case, I'm starting the 50 day from II again). Anyone else use this website??

What does running with Bas Rutten mean? Is he telling you how to run? or is it the songs he uses when he runs?

It's him talking to you, gives a little intro about how his cardio used to suck when he was younger and how it's great now, and that the workouts going to be tough, etc. Then it's the "podfitness trainer voice" saying what intensity to run at and Bas will tell how long to run for, and both of them give you words of encouragement along the way. You choose the music that you run to and it mixes it all into one track for you.

I really liked it, and to be honest, I despise running so much. If someone would have asked me before I did this is I could run more than 4 miles nonstop and a good speed, I would have told them to piss off. lol

When I last ordered from Bas, they threw in a free trial card for this. I never gave it a shot, maybe I'll try to dig it up and give it a whirl...

I don't even think you need a trial card or anything like that actually. I just signed up with my name and all that, and also a credit card, because after the 2 month trial they charge you monthly if you don't cancel it. I dunno if I'll keep it after the two months or not, I have to see how much it costs.
This is the link I went to for the free trial

Yeah, I think it can work with mp3 players besides iPods, but I'm pretty sure you do have to use iTunes for the website to make your mp3's for the workouts. If you really really have trouble running it might be pretty tough for you the first time, but after each workout you can say what you liked about it, what you didn't like, rate its difficulty, etc., so it adjusts it for you.
